Billie Global Headquarters, designed by the Office of Tangible Space in New York City, embodies the spirit of the female-first razor brand. Billie challenges the traditional shaving industry, making daily routines more delightful and affordable for women. The design of their headquarters aimed to reflect this mission, creating an immersive and functional space.
Design Philosophy
The design process began by stripping the space to its bare bones, revealing the beautiful windows and existing architectural character. This approach allowed the natural beauty of the space to shine through. The team then added elements to complement and balance the brand’s identity, the feel of the space, and the functional needs of a growing company. The result is an inviting, uplifting environment with creative engagement and subtle allusions to the brand in the details.
Custom Furniture and Materials
Office of Tangible Space designed and built custom furniture throughout the headquarters, including desks, conference tables, kitchen cabinetry, and seating. The design team used a raw, architectural material palette of Marine Fir Plywood, Stone, and Powder-coated Steel. Subtle pops of color were incorporated to enhance the space without overwhelming it.
Furniture, Lighting, and Objects
The headquarters features furniture, lighting, and objects from renowned designers such as Ladies & Gentlemen Studio, Alvar Aalto, Vladimir Kagan, Menu, HAY, Muuto, and Jessica Hans. These elements contribute to the overall aesthetic and functionality of the space, creating a cohesive and inspiring environment.
