Bundanoon Home by McMillan Design sits in the Southern Highlands, blending modern farmhouse style with thoughtful functionality. Created in collaboration with architect Edward Rosier, the interiors focus on intimacy, warmth, and a natural connection to the surrounding landscape.
Interior Concept and Palette
The design of Bundanoon Home embraces earthy tones inspired by the cool climate of Bundanoon. Browns, slates, greens, and bronze establish a cocooning atmosphere that contrasts beautifully with soaring ceilings and crisp white walls. A lush, layered color palette enhances the home’s warmth while reinforcing its connection to the rural environment.
Living Spaces for Connection
The open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area anchors the home. With dramatic ceiling heights and breathtaking views, these spaces are ideal for entertaining. Walnut timber, warm grey porcelain stone, and black and aged-brass details balance openness with intimacy. As a result, the interiors feel both expansive and inviting.
Private Retreats
The warm palette continues into the main bedroom, where v-groove joinery, brass fittings, and delicate wall sconces add texture and character. In the ensuite bathroom, a freestanding bath takes center stage in front of sliding glass doors, framing the views while creating a serene, spa-like atmosphere. The combination of natural textures and soft light makes this retreat equally elegant and intimate.
Conclusion
Bundanoon Home by McMillan Design represents pared-back luxury at its finest. With interiors that prioritize comfort, beauty, and function, the house offers its owners a timeless sanctuary to cherish for years. Ultimately, Bundanoon Home reflects the perfect union of modern farmhouse design and rural serenity.
