All of Austin Maynard Architects designs are concept rich, left of centre and sustainability conscious; styles and singular themes are avoided. Austin Maynard specialises in ideas rather than building type, whether the project be a house in Fitzroy, a library in Japan, a protest shelter in Tasmania or a plywood bicycle. Brickface is a compact building situated at the rear of an existing house in Richmond, Melbourne. It consists of a garage at ground level, studio living/guest suite at first floor, and a roof deck.
Charles House is a multi-generational home recently completed by Melbourne- based Austin Maynard Architects. The client’s wanted a house they could live in for at least 25 years. They wanted a home that would grow with the family, anticipating and accommodating different needs at each stage.
Dorman House is an old shack transformed into a comfortable home for a young family. The project was recently completed by Austin Maynard Architects.
My-House is my own home. It is also the office of Austin Maynard Architects. My family and I live upstairs, whilst Austin Maynard Architects occupies the shopfront downstairs. The kitchen, dining and garden are shared between my family and the Austin Maynard team between 9am and 5pm.
Tower House is a renovation and creativ extension to a weatherboard house in Alphington, Victoria, Australia. We restored the original, where we have two kids’ rooms, a bathroom and living spaces.
