The existing house was divided into two dwellings, a small flat with fronts steps leading down on the lower ground floor and a family maisonette on the upper three floors, accessed up a flight of external stairs.
A sensitive and comprehensive transformation of a Georgian Home in central London, centred around a new triple-height stair gallery and designed for a family.
The George house is a fun renovation of an existing two-storey home that was built in the 1980’s, situated on a green, low density housing estate.

We were approached by Nick and Emilie, with a young and growing family, to transform their traditional Stoke Newington terrace house into a modern family home.
The existing house is a magnificently wide property with a traditional central stair layout and two rooms either side. This layout benefits from a shallow plan from front to back and classically proportioned windows providing daylight and views from every room.
The Bladerunner house was inspired by the client’s personality and love of Brutalism, to come together in a fun, adventurous exploration of materiality.
One of the real delights of the Vault House is the contrast between the original spaces, with traditional covings and Georgian proportions, contrasted with the strikingly different kitchen extension.
