The Shiplap Residence by IN-EXPAT Singapore
Like any other minimalist interiors, the Shiplap Residence is designed with an open floor plan to accentuate natural lighting and the attractive architectural features of the existing structure.
About IN-EXPAT Singapore
Founded in 2008 with a humble 1,500 sq. ft workshop and a small team of dedicated craftsmen, IN-EXPAT set out with an ambitious vision: we believe that design projects should be easy and made transparent for everyone.
We wanted to circumvent the traditional way of construction by Designing and Building everything in-house to ensure quality craftsmanship and convenient services for our customers. After all, why should customers have to engage a Designer and Contractor separately for the same project?
To accomplish our mission as a one-stop Integrated Design and Build consultancy, we partnered with spatial design firm UPSTAIRS_ in 2016 to expand into a dynamic company providing architecture, building and construction, and interior design services.
We also moved into a newly refurbished 15,200 sq. ft showroom, office, and production workshop at our current location. And at the root of our dynamically-expanding business remains our firm belief in providing providing honest and personalised services for our customers.

For the design of this 400-square-metre 5-room Bukit Panjang Apartment in Singapore, we proposed the use of the colour black as a thematic element given its toned down masculine and modern qualities.
For this 1,012 sq ft HDB apartment, the challenge was to introduce industrial elements while retaining a polished look. Some of the elements incorporated were white brick walls, cement screed surfaces, a magnetic wall at the kitchen entrance for art and messages, and well-appointed lighting and furniture.
To express the raw, industrial interior design concept, the Moonstone Lane apartment sports a textured palette of copper, red brick walls, cast concrete and jet-black steel. An unconventional abode, this studio apartment is one that indeed satisfies the owner’s aspirations for a unique home.
