The house is located in the New Leopold Town, the 13th district of Budapest. A mostly Jewish neighbourhood, it was built in the 30’s like the white city in Tel Aviv. The penthouse has a 100 m2 roof terrace facing the Danube and the Rose Hill on the other side of the river
The aim is to enhance this condition, which has now become a desire, with the floor plan of the project being the result of a complete emptying of the Sequence Apartment that organises the domestic space in a unique atmosphere that is compatible with the spatial strategy of the walls of the initial state.

On a large private lot at the foothills of the Hill Country, this client wanted their house to be ingrained in nature, rather than up on the hill towards the view; what results is a beautiful play fashioned amongst landscape and building – with each one stealing the spotlight from each other around every bend.
Invited by U+I, along with The Manser Practice, to develop a design-led response to the brief, ARD’s approach was to compartmentalise domestic activities to create an efficient, sustainable and harmonious living space.
