When Ar. Sanjeev Sharma of Orionn Architects was approached to design an Academy, the young owners of RAU’S IAS Academy want to have a modern look to their office with a contemporary design with open office space. Modern office space should be stimulating, not suffocating. In fact, modern workers don’t want to feel boxed in by anyone or anything.

The aesthetically designed academy is spread across 6000sq. ft. area. Located in one of the posh areas, Barakhamba road Connaught Place of Delhi, this office is carefully thought-out by keeping in mind the fusion of modern and contemporary office. The entire office is designed so employees can move freely and work comfortably in an open space. The selected materials emphasize and aid the understanding of modular build principles easily, with their perforated surface and visible details used to the maximum extent in their natural form.

Placement of the furniture in the waiting lounge and the overall office area makes the interior spacious and clutter-free. The interventions inside the areas aim to provide flexible spaces that encourage interactions. The office area comprises a conference room with a refined wooden interior and a room for mock interview tests with open glasses where students practice with teachers for the personal interview round.

Director’s cabin is designed with white colours with books shelf as highlights, giving the cabin a beautiful look. The office has a storage cabin where employees can keep their important things and bags.

The colour combination and interior design are used in a manner that creates a bright and fully illuminated space. Majorly white and grey are the dominating colours. The intent was to maximize the use of natural light so every area has been designed in a way that gives it more space effect. The furniture added that match the requirements.

It not only encompasses the Contemporary design of open office space but also includes style. The open ceiling design adds a volume of space. The interplay of light fixtures in the ceiling complements the futuristic design. The open layout plan has a diagonal main circulation, which splits the area into interesting spaces.
