Montreal-based and globally focused, ACDF Architecture is one of Canada’s most energetic and exuberant architecture firms. Since its launch in 2006, the studio has enjoyed a bold ascent and continues to complete ever-more ambitious, design-savvy projects at every scale, from interiors to master planning, for various programs, including commercial, residential, hospitality.
With its creative energy and its broad expertise, ACDF designs inspiring spaces in which North American pragmatism meets European flamboyance. Every creation is a careful response to the project’s objectives and constraints in order to mobilize the full potential of the site and its surroundings. ACDF uses a clear and bold language that highlights the project’s key design principles with sophisticated detailing and materials.
The firm’s major achievements established its reputation in Quebec, Canada and around the world. The 86-people team has a flexible structure that allows it to take on residential, commercial and institutional projects of every scale. This team structure encourages everyone in the firm to constantly reinvent themselves through design, research and experimentation. The firm’s innovative work has been celebrated on many occasions. Among them, ACDF received in 2010 a Governor General’s Medal in Architecture and in 2013, Maxime-Alexis Frappier, one of the firm’s co-founder, received the Young Architect Award from the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada.

ACDF Architecture, a progressive Canadian firm internationally recognized for designing a new generation of meaningful and impactful buildings, is proud to unveil the Apple Tree House, a family retreat located in the heart of Quebec’s Lanaudière region.
La Barque retreat is a hyperactive family’s peaceful shelter. Located on the shores of Lake Ouareau in Saint-Donat, the house was inspired by the owners’ love for the northern landscapes. Under the curved ceiling of the house, reminiscent of a boat hull, its serene interior atmosphere captures the calm of the surrounding hills
On the vast Lac Ouareau, located near the town of Saint-Donat, sits a charming traditional house surrounded by birch trees. The owners, a dynamic stepfamily, commissioned ACDF to design for their many children a larger area to play and relax.
Lightspeed commissioned ACDF Architecture – the designers for the first phase of the firm’s headquarters – to create a new floor dedicated to product development. The workspace of the point-of-sale software company is located on the ground floor of a 19th-century railway hotel, the chateau-style Viger Railway Station.
Located on the shores of Lake Memphremagog in the Eastern Townships, the House Lachance is a secondary residence designed for two clients who are native to the region, and currently oscillate between Montreal and Magog. Rapidly, the two clients who love music, nature and the land expressed their desire for a home with an open living area
Situated in La Malbaie’s “Terrasses Cap à l’Aigle,” Blanche Chalet by ACDF Architecture is a modern homage to the vernacular homes of the Charlevoix region. This contemporary retreat blends seamlessly with its surroundings, using simple, refined architecture to complement the rugged landscape.
