Like Villa Maison Noir, Villa Verte – so called for its densely treed setting – was to be a showcase for exciting furniture design, artwork and craft. But first, the structure had to be conceived, and to achieve this, the duo enlisted talented local architect Thomas Leach.
The Leyden Loft represents the conversion of an entire building floorplate from what was a commercial space previously used as a photographic studio into a residential apartment. The architects were involved in the transformation of the building some years back with the addition of a double level penthouse
Located in the leafy suburb of Higgovale, set below the iconic Table Mountain, House Invermark overlooks the city and harbour of Cape Town. Forty seven years after receiving a medal for excellence, House Invermark has been awarded a prestigious Commendation from the Cape Institute for Architecture
Designed for a young family in the suburban area of Rondebosch, Cape Town, this house sits on an elongated site with views towards Devil’s Peak and The Back Table, which is the south-eastern edge of the iconic Table Mountain. The client’s brief called for a contemporary, open plan home that provides a relaxed lifestyle and takes advantage of the site and its views.
The architects have been involved with previous projects on this tree-rich property, and were commissioned to design a small contemporary house to compliment the existing collection of buildings – spatially organised around a modern interpretation of the Cape Werf.
