The design team for The Meadow Home was inspired by prominent views and beautiful slopes to build a structure on to the landscape to minimize its massing on the originally undeveloped site.
The new Bridge Residence turned the challenge of a sloping site into an opportunity to evoke quiet seclusion while creating a grand statement.
The beauty of this project is the site itself, which overlooks the Portsea Lagoon and Wildlife Reserve. First Lessons House sits low amongst the existing myrtle and tea-trees, at the back corner of the site.
On a large property in northwestern Connecticut, Deborah Berke Partners designed this modern house to frame a long view to the south. The Sackett Hill house offers numerous other physical and visual connections to the meadow outside and mountains beyond.
On this beautiful plateau, high on a ridge of the Santa Monica Mountains overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the intention was to respond with an elemental design that strengthens a connection to nature on a vast scale while navigating the natural topography and sculptural rock outcroppings with deft precision.
FIL house is a one and a half story single family home. The most characteristic aspect of the house is its roof, divided along its longer axis into two sections of different heights, creating a sense of two intersecting solids.
Set on a large semi-rural property, this single storey L-shaped modern house wraps a courtyard terrace and pool. The main wing includes a study facing the front garden, as well as an open plan living area and master bed adjacent to the terrace.
