The penthouse of this 1927 building was vacant for several years. It’s character and large expanses of glass that overlooked downtown Portland made it a desirable space for the re-location of this tech office.

The renovation of a penthouse apartment from a 1900’s rowhouse (with a 1960’s conversion) into a modern live/work loft honors the eclectic heritage and unique character of the building, while unifying the details and streamlining the spaces.
Inspired by Scandinavian aesthetic, we combined different textures – wood, natural rusted black metal and textured plastering, with subtle hues like olive green, to achieve a breathable open space with sleek lines but detailed handling.
