This home serves as a final retreat for its owner on ancestral land, creating a space that is deeply connected to its environment.
Located on the shores of prestigious Lake Memphremagog, in the Eastern Townships Region of Quebec, this residence sits atop the lake’s steep shores, projecting itself onto a peaceful bay and providing impressive views of the surrounding environment.
When it comes to things like room divison, brightness and flow, Montreal’s traditional triplexes are rarely tied to conteporary realities. Because of this, their transformation takes particularly complex and meticulous attention when it comes to drawing up plans.
This project transformed a former industrial space into a luxury residence for a client who loves to cook and entertain.
Nestled in Quebec’s Laurentian forest, this residence is a composition of volumes with soothing and balanced proportions which, on winter nights, sparkles through the woods like a guiding lantern. The architectural structure, facing a large mountain and a beautiful lake, is spread across three levels, totaling 4,500 sq.ft. (420 sq.m. ).
Now airy, bright and modern, the annex that was once the servants’ quarters of this ancestral house in Outremont, was a dark, cramped space before remodeling began in 2019.
This project took a space in an early 19th century building that’s been a textile mill, a Campbell’s soup factory, and finally a condo complex, and tailored it to the clients’ personalities.
