An active young and growing family approached us with a desire to create a home that would give the ability to thoroughly enjoy this serene landscape. They wanted a “low-impact” Casco Bay Island retreat with the capability to welcome frequent visiting family and friends.
A young family desired to build a retreat on a large lot located outside Jackson Hole, Wyoming in bucolic Teton County, Idaho. The design locates the house amidst an expansive wetland that fluctuates seasonally.
This collaboration with Jim Jennings Architecture and Martha Angus utilized a factory fabricated steel frame to create a simple yet elegant 3,000 SF getaway in the desert. Jim Jennings invited our office to collaborate on this elegant desert retreat in Palm Springs, California.
Inspired by the property’s orchards, gardens and foliage, the interior design for this weekend home is a sophisticated layering of textures and color– rich blues and greens within a serene glass box.
The River home is comprised of two generic rectangular forms rotated to weave around existing trees while maintaining river views. Floor to ceiling sliding glass doors and exterior glazing over hardie panel serve as the connecting elements, wrapping the living space with transparency at the interior while reflecting nature at the exterior.
These comprised the first project data for a Pinamar vacation home which would offer ample spaces to gather and converse bearing in mind that, on vacations, spaces are used more placidly, the senses are awake and the contemplation of the surroundings becomes a rewarding experience.
