Smith House is a vacation home located on the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia, adjacent to the architect’s farm (Shobac). The home consists of three pavilions on a two-acre site spanning from a salt pond on the east to bold oceanfront on the west.
In harmony with its surroundings along the coast of Mexico, this vacation home embraces beauty as well as durability. Custom concrete walls matched to the color of local sand were poured in lifts to create a unique wavy texture that shifts as the light changes throughout the day.
An active young and growing family approached us with a desire to create a home that would give the ability to thoroughly enjoy this serene landscape. They wanted a “low-impact” Casco Bay Island retreat with the capability to welcome frequent visiting family and friends.
A young family desired to build a retreat on a large lot located outside Jackson Hole, Wyoming in bucolic Teton County, Idaho. The design locates the house amidst an expansive wetland that fluctuates seasonally.

Just outside the area Livadia Kissamou, in an arid and wild landscape where the air and the sea have rounded rocks and large boulders, a house was built in the place of an existing building- ruin that was there since 1900.
Situated on a sloping triangular site facing the sea, this Greek vacation home is conceived as a series of parallel adjoining rooms. They are created by retaining walls, a common feature in the Mediterranean landscape.
