Torres Paz Housing, located in La Viñita, Barranco, is a project by Vicca Verde that brings nature into urban living. It prioritizes sustainability, well-being, and energy efficiency. With smart design choices, it creates a peaceful and eco-friendly home for its residents.
A Home That Connects with Nature
This building is designed to keep nature close. It uses a greywater recycling system that collects shower water and reuses it for irrigation. Green areas on balconies, terraces, and patios benefit from this system. Large windows and open spaces allow natural light and fresh air to flow inside. At the same time, carefully planned views highlight both the nearby park and the building’s lush inner gardens.
Beyond beauty, the green spaces have practical benefits. They filter the air, reduce noise, and improve mental well-being. The shared spaces also encourage an active lifestyle. Residents have access to a reception area, a washing station for sports gear, and parking for bicycles and motorcycles.
Smart and Sustainable Design
Torres Paz Housing is built with energy efficiency in mind. A centralized gas system provides a sustainable heating solution. The building’s exterior features exposed concrete with a soft green tone, blending with its surroundings. Vertical cables allow climbing plants to grow over time, making nature part of the structure.
In addition, the design reduces the need for artificial cooling and lighting. Large openings maximize airflow, keeping spaces comfortable. Thoughtful shading minimizes heat buildup. As a result, the building stays cool while using less energy.
An Award-Winning Sustainable Project
Torres Paz Housing won the 2020 Architecture and City Award by CAPECO in the Low- and Medium-Density Multifamily Housing category. This recognition highlights its success in combining sustainability with modern living.
By integrating nature, energy-efficient systems, and smart design, this project creates a healthier and greener lifestyle. It proves that city living can be both comfortable and environmentally friendly.
