The “Kranzler Eck” is located in the heart of Berlin’s west end, directly on the Ku’damm. The building complex includes the iconic Café Kranzler and a new building with a glass facade. European consulting company d-fine has its new multi-space office on the light-flooded 8th floor of this new building. During an impulse workshop, the team decided that the Berlin location should be reflected in the new office. Additionally, task-specific areas with a natural flow of movement, inspired by the campus atmosphere of a coworking space, were incorporated.
Design Concept: Quartz Crystal
Given that d-fine employees have a scientific background, UP.GREAT developed the “quartz crystal” concept, with colors and shapes running throughout the office. The design team adopted dark blue from the company’s CI colors, replacing the orange with a hard, masculine pink representing diversity. They incorporated the crystal structure in the shape of the reception desk, the acoustic panels, and the carpets.
Functional and Flexible Spaces
The office area divides into internal and public spaces, offering an inspiring working environment for various activities. These include concentrated work, team projects, workshops, hybrid video conferences, and customer presentations. Mobile whiteboards and rollable screens optimize the agile workflow. Modular shelving systems structure the open-plan office area, defining walkways without compromising the open feeling of space. Close to the flexible workstations, communication areas, acoustically shielded by glass cubes, provide an ad hoc meeting room and a team office.
Social and Relaxation Areas
The cozy social area connects to the open-plan office, including a lounge area and cafeteria that focus on conversation and relaxation. As the day progresses, the sun moves around the “Kranzler Eck,” creating a fascinating play of light through the color-changing film of the glass cubes.

The new d-fine office provides employees with an attractive working environment that supports their agile way of working. Customers also feel its special vibe, blending d-fine’s professionalism with a dash of Berlin flair.
