Hampstead Manor, a prestigious residential development in Central London, is a captivating transformation of a former college known for its specialized study in botany. Developed by Mount Anvil, this project has beautifully repurposed the historic building, retaining its distinctive Victorian architecture, including elegant bay windows that offer enchanting views of the surrounding English gardens.
Our collaboration with a vibrant young couple from Nigeria presented an exciting opportunity to infuse their Hampstead Manor residence with a distinctive blend of modern luxury and African heritage. Their vision was clear: a turn-key design that exudes warmth, vibrant colors, and a welcoming ambiance, creating a sanctuary they could escape to and cherish as their second home.
In response to this brief, we curated an eclectic interior that seamlessly marries modern aesthetics with traditional African art and design elements. The living spaces are adorned with a carefully curated collection of original and contemporary designer pieces sourced from both Africa and Europe, creating a rich tapestry of colors, textures, and cultural influences.
Bold hues and patterns are juxtaposed with more subdued tones, while organic geometries and mid-century modern furnishings add a sophisticated layer of design. Hand-carved African relics and artisanal crafts serve as unique focal points, infusing the space with a sense of heritage and authenticity.
The result is a harmonious blend of old and new, where the rich history of Hampstead Manor meets the vibrant spirit of African design. The residence stands as a testament to the couple’s unique cultural identity, offering a welcoming and vibrant space that truly feels like a home away from home in the heart of London.
