Hidden Villa transforms a former Dutch coastal estate into a park-like residential retreat. It honors the site’s cultural and historical roots while creating a warm, modern home. Monumental trees, distinctive architecture, and stunning views come together to form an inviting space.
Preserving Heritage and Enhancing Privacy
Hidden Villa nestles in seclusion, surrounded by a lush garden. This garden protects privacy and softens the impact of the surrounding landscape. In addition, it opens up new sightlines and creates several outdoor areas to enjoy.
Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Living
Inside, the living spaces connect deeply with nature. Expansive, double-height patios extend from the first-floor living areas. These patios create a smooth flow between indoors and outdoors. Large canopies, which follow the sun’s path, keep the villa cool despite the many glass panels. This design helps fill the rooms with natural light.
Simple Materials and Custom Interiors
The exterior uses a mix of wood, stone, concrete, and glass for a refined, luxurious look. For example, the entrance, patios, and upper facades feature oil-treated ash wood. Light Kolumba bricks cover the ground level and outbuilding. White concrete floors and stucco ceilings run from indoors to outdoors. Minimalist aluminum frames and large glass panes further enhance the connection with the garden. Custom furniture and built-in cabinetry, made from dark-oiled oak and natural stone, add character. Carefully chosen tile patterns and smart lighting create the right mood in every room.
Enjoying Outdoor Living
The design also offers many outdoor features. Direct links to the garden include a swimming pool, a fire pit, and an outdoor kitchen. Sheltered terraces beneath the canopies provide great spots for relaxation. The greenery weaves throughout the patios, blending the landscape with the built spaces.
In short, Hidden Villa reclaims a historic coastal estate and turns it into a peaceful retreat. The design respects its heritage while using simple, modern ideas. The result is a home that connects with nature and offers a calm, welcoming space for everyday living.
