Bluespace were tasked with revamping the former Russell Alison lounge at Norwich City Football Club. The brief was to create an inviting atmosphere where both fans and the general public can relax and enjoy some good food and beer.
The main aim of the space was to create a welcoming and cosy environment. This was achieved through choosing a darker palette throughout, including dark stained timber features, dark wall tiles and interior decor. The ceiling has an exposed industrial look with a touch of warmth introduced by the suspended copper pendant lights.
There are many standout features that make this space unique, one of which is the tap walls. NCFC wanted to completely reinvent the pub experience and allow people to serve their own pint. The two tap walls were installed at either end of the pub, kitted out with payment terminals and touch screens to choose your preferred beer. This not only helps to speed up the ordering time, but ease the pressure amongst the bar staff.
To celebrate the club’s history, an art mural by fan and artist Dave Nash spans the back wall of the pub, illustrating all the amazing goals scored by legendary NCFC players over the years.
This project is a truly welcoming space that can be enjoyed by all. Whether you are a football fan or not, it is a great space to enjoy a pint.
