Montana Magica Lodge, a spectacular hotel

Situated in the middle of a natural reservation of 600 square kilometers, the Montana Magica Lodge hotel seems to be an unreal construction, inspired by stories. The hotel is built from wood and stone and it has the conical shape of a volcano. The construction is covered with lush vegetation and constantly it is washed by crystalline waterfalls that “erupt” from the “top of the volcano”. The natural biosphere reserve of Huilo Huilo is located in the southern Chile, in Patagonia where it is surrounded by the crests of the Andes and protected by UNESCO. Huilo-Huilo is a privately managed reservation where the ecotourism has developed with due respect for the locals’ culture and nature. Montana Magica Lodge is not the only hotel in the area, but it definitely has the most spectacular architecture. All hotels in the reservation were built by constructors and masters from the nearby villages, under the coordination of a foundation.

Built as an integrant part of the place’s nature, the hotel has all the facilities of a modern hotel. The Montana Magica Lodge hotel has 14 rooms built integrally from stone and wood. Having a rustic design with animal engravings and Chilean traditional decorations, the hotel gives you the feeling that you are extracted from the present and returned back to nature, to the origins. Montana Magica Lodge is equipped with a mini-golf course, spa, sauna, conference room, lecture hall, restaurant, bar and a special place arranged for children. The area attractions are related to the natural beauty of the reservation, unforgettable trips being organized. The guests can play diverse sports, fish, ride or visit the highlanders’ villages. You can try traditional culinary specialties and taste the acclaimed Chilean wines. Annually, Huilo Huilo reservation attracts thousands of tourists who desire to adventure and know the depths of the nature, and Montana Magica Lodge is a spectacular point of attraction, touristic and architectural of the reservation.

Minimalist Mid-Century House With Plant-Covered Wall

This minimalist mid-century house was completed by Naturehumaine Architects in 2017. The first step for this detached house from the late 1940s was to open the rear facade onto the garden with a 24-foot (7.4 m) sliding bay window. By taking away the intermediary support element, this intervention removes the barriers to the outdoor terrace.

Prior to the renovation, exposed brick, a mix of colors including off-white, beige, brown, and muted green, and dark hardwood floors made for a more traditional look, but it felt a bit too dark, even during peak daylight hours. The Tribeca condo project started in June 2016, and had to be completed by December 2016 in time for the baby’s arrival.
