About Atelier Starzak Strebicki
Atelier Starzak Strebicki is a practice for architecture, urbanism, research and design, based in Poznań, Poland. The team is led by Jola Starzak and Dawid Strębicki. The studio is working on variety of projects and research tasks in different scales. Starting with, for example: furniture design for new headquarters of National Audiovisual Institute NInA in Warsaw, Poland, through architectural projects (several houses and renovation projects) up to urban planning (masterplan and design for public spaces in the center of Strombeek near Brussels, Belgium) and public space design (furniture for Courtyard of the City Hall in Poznań, Poland).

The apartment Kos , located on the third floor in a newly-constructed building in the centre of Poznań is a result of the unification of two units.
The project, an arrangement of the 90 square meter house, was driven by the idea to create an illusion of spatiality, which in turn required us to change the organization of the existing layout of the rooms.
The project consists of the gradual revitalization of the Poznań City Hall’s area, located in the historical center. The process has been carried out in several phases. It began in 2015 with the transformation of the inner courtyard
The design of the house was accompanied by the assumption to fully exploit the potential of the beautiful area bordering on the lake and to create a space that would harmoniously correspond with the surrounding landscape.
The modernized flat with the area of 55 square meters located in the low-rise buildings from the 50’s is a result of joining together two premises.
The attic in the multi-family house in the Old Grunwald district was adapted into the modern and functional flat and work studio. The initial attic space was characterized by various heights of the rooms (some of them very low) and with preserved beautiful wooden ceiling and floor.
The refurbishment of the flat in one of Poznan housing estate was led by the need of reorganising space for a family of two adults and three children so that all residents could spend time together as they like, as well as have their place.
The apartment with a view located on the seventh floor is a result of combining two flats. Its space is divided into two main and at the same time interpenetrating zones: intimate and daily.
Imagine a café, a reading room, a bookstore and a coffee roasting company all located in a refurbished former milk bar. The idea to create a place that would meet various needs of book lovers and coffee enthusiasts was a consequence
