John DeForest, AIA, Principal
A native Seattleite, John DeForest received architectural degrees from Yale and from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. After working with firms in New England, San Francisco, and Seattle, John founded DeForest Architects with a vision of developing a more collaborative, client-inspired approach to design.
The Quincho House, designed by DeForest Architects, serves as an indoor-outdoor pavilion and modern cottage. This home is tailored for entertaining and providing additional space for hosting family and friends. With its design rooted in Argentinian tradition, it offers a contemporary take on the quincho—a space for social gatherings

Overlooking Lake Washington, this 1931 Tudor home featured warm materials and several original details, but suffered from a cramped layout and an inadequate connection to its park-like lot overlooking Lake Washington.
