Kieron Gait Architects is an award winning studio predominantly working within the residential sector in SE Queensland, Australia.
We believe that architecture is about engaging in the very personal journey of design in order to realise extraordinary architectural outcomes. We work to make the process of design and construction, something which is positive, memorable and life changing.
To deliver an exceptional product in a personalized way requires the understanding and expertise of many. Our core group of like-minded designers includes architects and interior designers who work collaboratively to create meaningful places and spaces.
We love to work on residential projects — including new builds and renovations, as well as community and commercial projects of all scales.

Environmental Impact
Kieron Gait Architects has been certified as a Carbon Neutral studio. We have been tracking, measuring and offsetting our emissions on an ongoing basis. For the past two years, we have been carbon positive by almost 7 tonnes of CO2 by purchasing offsets for native regeneration and conservation in Mt Sandy. We have installed solar panels, switched to Green Energy and are reducing paper consumption.
As a studio, we have developed a common understanding about the importance of sustainability, to tread lightly on country, to care for and repair the land. Collectively we are searching for ways to positively impact the environment through decisions we make in our projects.

Ashgrove Hillside House by Kieron Gait Architects
The Ashgrove Hillside House sits on an enviable site – elevated and surrounded by wattle, gum trees and grevilleas with views out to Mt Coot-tha through the canopies.
Bardon Undercroft House by Kieron Gait Architects
This renovation celebrates the undercroft. An existing timber Queenslander was moved towards the rear of the site and raised to allow a new living platform underneath the house.
Morningside Residence / Kieron Gait Architects
Morningside Residence by Kieron Gait Architects is a quiet, respectful and poetic addition to a 1920s Queenslander house. The existing 1920s house is a beautiful house, but highest and divorced from the garden.
Queenslander House Upgraded to Accommodate a Growing Family
The sloping site looks out over a regenerated silver and lead mine to the south – a bush setting in suburban Brisbane. To accommodate a growing family, the brief adds additional living space and bedrooms to the 3 bedroom high set Queenslander house.
House Alteration and Addition by Kieron Gait Architects
The sloping site runs down to a lush garden to the West, where mature trees and outlook provide a beautiful protected rear garden. The clients, living in a high set Queenslander wanted to live on the garden level so that their young children can play outside without constant supervision and enjoy the garden.
SIPS House – A Simple And Restrained Design Offering Connection and Outlook
The SIPS House project is demonstration of restraint, the design has been carefully and deliberately paired back to the core aspirations of connections, outlooks and prospect.
Paddington House in Brisbane / Kieron Gait Architects
Paddington House is a private residence recently completed by Brisbane-based Kieron Gait Architects. The idea of the long hallway connects this project to the existing 4 room workers cottage.Â
