This family retreat house has won two major awards in the Auckland-Northland Architectural Designers New Zealand (ADNZ) awards, announced on Friday, June 30, 2017. The project won the award for a Residential New Home between 150 square metres and 300 square metres
The West 8th Avenue Residence is set on a modestly-sized lot in the heart of Point Grey. FdVA designed this home as a response to our clients careers in theatre, and their interest in combining Japanese principles of art with Western Architecture.
Te Kaitaka house is nestled amongst the tussock covered hills of Roy’s Peninsula on the shores of Lake Wanaka, in the South Island of New Zealand. It is situated on the edge of Te Wahipounamu / Southwest New Zealand World Heritage Area and Mt Aspiring National Park.
This 800 sq. ft. one-bedroom cabin was nestled between two massive lichen-covered rocks in the rugged landscape of Alberta, Canada. Rock House is located at Carraig Ridge, “A hub of contemporary architecture, set in the foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains in southern Alberta.”
Rabbit Snare Gorge is a single family summer getaway set in the rugged terrain of Inverness, on the coast of rural Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. The form is generated by the vertical transformation of the traditional gable, a way to get above the trees and view the landscape.
Into the Wild is an über-modern residential project on 2.3 acres of undeveloped land in the heart of Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. The house was designed by Acre Architects in close collaboration with the homeowners – Judith Mackin and Robert Moore from Tuck Studio.
Set in the coastal bushland of Aireys Inlet, this home weaves along the block between established ironbarks, capitalizing on the bush views and northern aspect, to create a tranquil retreat.
