About Mauricio Fuertes
Mauricio Fuertes wasn’t born as a photographer!
While being a foreign exchange trader for almost a decade, photography was always a real passion for me. I constantly wanted to learn more, shoot more and better, until one day I just decided to go for it! Since then, I have no regrets. I’ve been working a lot, with people that I like, in places that I dream about, and always in new and interesting projects.
Interiors and architecture have been always one of my professional choice. I love to work in different locations, meeting different designers and owners, it’s pretty fun. Every shooting I find something interesting and new, even after ten years shooting in lovely houses!!! My job has brought me to shoot in many different countries with different trendy styles.
And… when I’m not shooting, you can find me outdoors climbing somewhere, enjoying life as much as I can!
My personal work has taken me to South East Asia, North and South America, the Middle East and North Africa. In 2006 I published INDOCHINA, a collection of 6 months of my work in South East Asia.
In 2004 I was awarded the Bronze LUX Award at the Spanish National Professional Photography Awards for my work on deserts in Algeria, Bolivia, and Spain.
My architecture, landscape, and commercial work have also been nominated for the LUX Award in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Since 2014 I moved my residence to Mallorca and professionally I’m always splitting my time between Barcelona and the Island.
