Redefining Clinic Design

The Sergio Miralles Podiatry Clinic project by Vitale presents a fresh and innovative approach in the podiatry field. This project, led by expert podiatrist Sergio Miralles, offers a clear departure from traditional clinical designs by focusing on patient experience. Moreover, the clinic’s branding and interior design were revamped to reflect its status as a leading center for advanced podiatry. The design encourages optimism, well-being, and a positive attitude toward recovery, making the patientā€™s emotional state a priority.

Design Concept: Mediterranean Inspiration for Healing

Vitale Studioā€™s design concept emphasizes creating an uplifting environment. To achieve this, the designers drew inspiration from Mediterranean light and coastal landscapes, both of which symbolize calmness and movement. In addition, the use of soft, natural tonesā€”reminiscent of sand, stones, and skinā€”further enhances the soothing atmosphere. These design choices ensure that patients feel optimistic and connected to a serene space.

The clinicā€™s standout feature is the ceramic latticework, which evokes traditional Mediterranean architecture. Not only does this feature define spaces by playing with light and shadow, but it also creates an inviting and warm atmosphere. The latticework offers privacy in essential areas, such as the reception and waiting rooms, while contributing to the overall feeling of tranquility.

Layout and Materials: A Blend of Function and Aesthetics

The clinic spans 380 mĀ² and is carefully designed to meet both functional and aesthetic needs. The layout includes a reception area, six treatment rooms, and a comprehensive medical-surgical section with two large operating rooms. Additionally, the design uses recyclable vinyl flooring, which extends up the walls to ensure hygieneā€”a key consideration in healthcare settings. This material, with its mottled appearance resembling sand, complements the soft tones and reinforces the natural aesthetic of the clinic.

Furthermore, the reception area is highlighted by vertical lighting that emphasizes the roomā€™s height. Ceramic latticework curves around the waiting area, giving patients a sense of privacy and comfort. This immersive design evokes a feeling of being in an outdoor space, which contributes to patient well-being.

Technological Integration and Modern Touches

Beyond its Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic, the clinic incorporates modern elements that align with its advanced medical services. Linear LED lighting runs through the hallways and consultation rooms, emphasizing the clinicā€™s cutting-edge approach. Additionally, the use of indirect lighting, combined with the smooth and clean design of the walls and floors, creates a spacious and harmonious environment throughout the clinic.

Conclusion: A Multisensory Experience for Patient Well-being

In conclusion, Vitale Studio successfully transformed the Sergio Miralles Podiatry Clinic into a space where patients feel optimistic and at ease. By drawing on Mediterranean inspirations and combining them with modern technology, the clinic creates a soothing and advanced environment. This approach offers patients a positive multisensory experience that aligns with the clinicā€™s commitment to promoting well-being and recovery. Through thoughtful design, Vitale Studio has created a clinic that not only meets functional needs but also enhances the patient experience in a meaningful way.
