Total refurbishment of a 200sqm apartment located in the neighborhood of Chamberí, in Madrid. It has been a very interesting creative process where changes in the layout and the incorporation of new elements has meant a radical change in the space. The key has been to incorporate special materials to the singular elements of the project.
Llull apartment was open to the public during Barcelona Design Week 2019. The event was presented thanks to the collaboration of prestigious international design companies such as Franke, Bticino, JNF, Hobby Flower, Fusteria Gurdó, Admonter, Delta Light, Ikebe, Silent Gliss, Novy and Cristina.
The biggest challenge was the conversion of a compartmentalized apartment into a completely integrated space, rethinking the way of living of two young brothers. The living room, TV room, dining room, kitchen, laundry, balcony and office have become part of a single space.
The building is situated in the countryside near Genoa, surrounded by a chestnut trees woods. Before the refurbishment works, the house was characterized by a long corridor that completely cut the flat, leading to the several rooms arranged on both its sides.
