On the roof of an existing building in Berlin Neukölln, a small but lively and sensual world has been created in a simple style that belies its complexity – a rooftop penthouse that gives its occupants enhanced quality of life.
No Ordinary Apartment is divided in two units with seamless connection through wooden sliding doors. High ceilings and big windows create an overall spacious feel. The bright open-plan living, kitchen and dining space is the center of the apartment where friends come together for long dinners and endless talks.
The KC apartment needed thorough renovation as many of the floors were sagging and there was no real modern comfort to be found. We proposed tearing down a dividing wall and recreating a central axis, as this was common in historical buildings like these.
