The Greenbelt Overlook Residence is a home for a family of three overlooking the greenbelt in Austin, Texas. At once serious and playful, this project embodies the competing influences guiding our client team.
The original 1930 bungalow’s main value was its prime location near South Congress. Otherwise, the existing structure was dark and dated. The original structure’s living spaces were cut off from the backyard by the master bedroom and a utility room.
Developed as a home for multiple generations, the Descendant House allows three family units and generations to co-exist harmoniously in a single structure. The house physically descends down the slope of the lot, while also carrying on the legacy of a former house that previously existed on the site.
The design of Spechts’ Dallas house was driven by the desire to blur the lines between inside and outside while providing a sense of privacy and seclusion from the street and surrounding neighborhood, at the homeowners request.
Tucked into the Hill Country canyons, the buildings of Canyon Preserve stair step down steep, rocky slopes of oaks, first growth cedar and hearty indigenous vegetation, creating a secluded and serene setting for this intimate house.
Drawing on distant views from a bluff top, this 3,200-square-foot addition to an existing ranch house shared by four sisters in Weatherford, Texas, was designed to accommodate their need for additional communal living areas and guest space.
Located in the historic Travis Heights neighborhood, Hotel Saint Cecilia provides easy access to the South Congress District that’s just a block away, a commercial strip offering entertainment, shopping, and culinary experiences.
