Situated on a rare natural clearing within a region of protected conservation lands, this property is nestled within a 6 acre property on the Niagara Escarpment, Ontario, Canada.
The client owned property in the rolling hills of Caledon Ontario and wanted views to be framed over the countryside – allowing particular points of view and rejecting others with less-than- spectacular previously built features.
Located in the vibrant, historic North End of Halifax, Nova Scotia on a narrow and abandoned lot. In the decades prior, the adjacent property was the site of a neighbourhood African Nova Scotian barbershop.
MXMA Architecture & Design completed a renovation of the Prince Philip house, a typical 1960s house that had already been enhanced by a contemporary addition.
“Beaches House” is a split-level residence located in the middle of these two environments, with Kew Beach to the south, and Queen Street to the north.
Located just off a busy retail/commuter street in Toronto this house was conceived as a simple architectural proposition. A box with one simple spatial gesture that attempts to refine quite common social orientations within the home.
The design of the Pacific project is born from the homeowners’ values and traditions where the comforts of their past are now viscerally felt within their present-day lives.
The renewal of the residence on Cowley avenue began with the idea of connecting the existing house to the expansive yard in the rear of the largest single property in the Champlain Park region of Ottawa.
