When you enter a penthouse duplex apartment and it feels like you’ve walked into a basement, something isn’t right. That is what happened when we first arrived to look at a project in the former parish house at St. George’s church.
The Wedge house is a custom family home located in the eastern suburbs of Athens, in the mountainous and full of pine trees area of Pikermi, named Drafi. The site is quite distinctive and has many challenging features. The main complexity is the steep terrain with an almost 20-meter- height-difference from one side of the site to the other.
Honeycomb Apartment was designed for a young family by designer Jeff Weng of Two Books Space Design. The apartment is located in Taipei, Taiwan.
A housing unit that due to Barcelona´s rising rental apartment demand was divided, as it happens with theatre plays, in three acts. Located in the very heart of Poblenou it manages to reflect the neighbourhood’s industrial character while sequentially unfolding its spaces in a narrative manner.
Completed by Zen Architects, the Up-Cycled Warehouse project transforms a 1960’s warehouse into a comfortable, sustainable family home. Although the existing structure lacked the inherent beauty of older Victorian era factories, the unique character and history of this building were retained and enhanced through the detailing and materiality of the new additions.
This 1,500sf duplex gut renovation in Noho, NY was designed as a first home to showcase a young couple’s casual lifestyle and expanding family. The program called for a family residence with an open, flowing interior on two levels.
