Total refurbishment of a 200sqm apartment located in the neighborhood of Chamberí, in Madrid. It has been a very interesting creative process where changes in the layout and the incorporation of new elements has meant a radical change in the space. The key has been to incorporate special materials to the singular elements of the project.

The aim is to enhance this condition, which has now become a desire, with the floor plan of the project being the result of a complete emptying of the Sequence Apartment that organises the domestic space in a unique atmosphere that is compatible with the spatial strategy of the walls of the initial state.
UPHouse is the tail of a simple operation: the introduction of a space of intimate scale into another space, which, being domestic, is exposed and social. The dwelling under refurbishment is situated in the very centre of Madrid, next to one of the most important cultural sites in the city, namely, the surroundings of the Retiro Park. It is a top-storey flat with a terrace of 190 m2 of usable space.
In the Salamanca house project we have moved the kitchen to the center of the house and we have eliminated most of the corridor linking the rooms and suppressing partition walls. The distinction between spaces has been made with furniture.
