The space of the apartment is not limited within the physical layout, the city surrounding the building becomes part of it and the added facade glazing only maintains the comfort of the indoor climate, connecting the city into an extended peripheral perception.
The apartment 077 is located in the Old Town of Prague and with its 250 sqm extends on a full floor of a refurbished residential building from late 1920’s.
The original layout of this apartment in the center of Prague had four rooms organized around a large entry vestibule–a typical configuration for this typology of elegant residences in the city center.
The stepped volumes apartment is a gut renovation of a unit in Prague, Czech Republic. The design process and construction took place during the Pandemic, and, as a result, the design team was never able to visit and experience the site physically. The entire process, from ideation to final completion, was managed remotely.
Everyone would love to live in Dejvice, and not just because of its exceptional location within Prague. What our ancestors built through necessity, we can express creatively and differently.
Our task was clear at the first sight, we needed to keep the soul of the space, while building a retreat for the creative mind. The disused laundry at the top of a 19th century mestansky dum had it all. In the very heart of the Prague’s Jewish quarters, hidden in the attic, five stories above the havoc of the Old Town.
The apartment is located in a new renovated apartment building near Letna Square in Prague 7. We have modified the layout proposed by the developer to meet the requirements of a young couple.
This stylish penthouse is technically separate object played on top of the apartment building. Layout was designed in the shape of a cross which allows separation of different functional zones. There is a dining zone, living area, area with rooms for kids and sleeping area.
