Villa K is organised around a raised ‘viewing platform’ which is slightly pushed into the top of a hill. The design of the house is a response to both the plot and the amazing surrounding views.
The 6M residence is located on a great plot next to a lake on which the setting sun falls and combines with the sounds of nature, characteristics that contribute to creating sensations within an architecture that adapts to it.
In an extremely narrow lot with slopes on two sides and an existing platform at a level of 4m above the street, the first thing tackled was the access ramp and parking.
Located at the point where rolling hills meet meadows of native grassland, the Santa Lucia Preserve Residence One was designed to sensitively merge with its landscape.
The main footprint of the old house has been respected and the new contemporary family house takes on the memory of its original form while, refining the detail and layout of the spaces.
MGP managed the entire residential project, including client management, design concept, right through to project management of construction, management of all approvals and the process for new titles, and management of sales and marketing.
Taylor Smyth Architects and Cecconi Simone collaborated on the design of the house, with the sophisticated interiors custom designed by Cecconi Simone to incorporate bronze privacy screens, stone, wood paneling and built-in millwork.
