Hope Tree - solution for desert areas, by Zhejiang University

Hope Tree was designed to be used in areas where there are big temperature variations between day and night. This project can be very useful in desert areas from Africa and the two Americas. Basically, this “tree” is a pretty big device that absorbs the moisture from the air, moisture that emerges in conditions of big temperature differences between day and night.

The moisture harvested by the Hope Tree is transformed into drinking water. Having a special design, the tree canopy is in the larger area exposed to moisture and it harvests H2O particles and directs them to the trunk of the tree that is a column with the role of a filter. The drinking water is collected at the base of the tree and it can be easily accessed.
