Reconstruction of a Countryside Homestead in South Bohemia

The original homestead consisted of two houses, a log cottage and a stone barn, forming an L-shape an set naturally in a remote meadow. To keep this balanced relation we decided to make minimum interventions on the exteriors, the main changes happen inside.

The single family residence built in Wagener Terrace close to Hampton Park in Charleston, South Carolina was originally a squat exposed cinder block duplex home from the 1950’s that saw little modification over the years.

Located in Trousdale Estates, the Paeper Residence, designed by A. Quincy Jones, had suffered few alterations when new owners Blair and Brian Paeper hired Buckner in 2014 to restore the house.
