In the heart of Bolzano’s historic Dodiciville district, the Alperia headquarters has undergone a remarkable transformation led by Marco Sette Architecture studio. This renovation not only revitalized the building’s aesthetic but also firmly rooted it in principles of sustainability and environmental consciousness, reflecting Alperia’s commitment to eco-friendly practices.
A Striking Glass Facade
The standout feature of the renovated headquarters is its impressive eleven-meter-high glass facade, highlighted by a seven-meter-high entrance crafted from a single piece of triple-layered glass. This grand design element is more than just an architectural marvel; it symbolizes the company’s dedication to sustainability. The use of triple glass is a strategic choice, optimizing thermal efficiency and significantly reducing the building’s energy consumption for heating and cooling. This facade exemplifies how design can simultaneously enhance visual appeal and support environmental goals.
Harmonious Interior Design
Inside the headquarters, the design continues to emphasize a strong connection to the natural environment. Locally sourced wood and stone are prominent throughout the interior, reinforcing the project’s sustainability credentials while also creating a space that resonates with the local landscape and cultural heritage. Artistic touches, such as forest-themed prints and relief sculptures in the bathrooms, further integrate the natural world into the workspace, creating an environment that is both inspiring and grounded in its surroundings.
Advanced Technology and Energy Efficiency
Beyond its aesthetic qualities, the Alperia headquarters is equipped with cutting-edge electrical systems and “SMART” technology solutions. These innovations contribute to a dynamic and efficient work environment, aligning with Alperia’s mission of reducing its ecological footprint. The SMART systems enable intelligent management of resources like lighting and heating, ensuring that the building operates as sustainably as possible.
A Model of Sustainable Architectural Innovation
The renovation of the Alperia headquarters by Marco Sette Architecture studio is a shining example of how modern architecture can embrace sustainability. By incorporating local materials and advanced technology, the project not only reduces the building’s ecological impact but also enhances its operational efficiency. This transformation illustrates the power of architectural innovation in promoting sustainable practices and sets a new standard for environmentally conscious design in corporate settings.
