Can just 27 square meters make you enter a large dimension and seize the opulent opportunities of a big city?
What to do when the bathroom door directly faces the entrance and shows off itself?
How can the entrance communicate with the adjacent studio without further fragmenting the space?
How can the functional needs of a small work table coexist with ever-increasing dreams?
How do you transform the window on the street into a large beacon of attraction for the curiosity of visitors?
We kindly invite you to discover our design journey of our studio in order to answer all the questions.
The entrance wall is transformed into a scenic backdrop, giving life and color back to the many waste materials recovered from the various construction sites.
Upon rotation of a tube at handle height, a door unexpectedly opens, revealing a previously hidden bathroom…Inside an ancient stone sink, it gives back due importance.
The use of mirrors, sometimes on the wall and sometimes on the ceiling, multiplies spaces and volumes. The reflective leaden shade softens the perception, immersing the visitor in an environment dilated and mitigated by real geometric boundaries.
A table cantilevers from a large mirrored wall, doubling the number of seats and creating the sensation of additional workstations. The slight slope of this large mirrored wall allows for monitoring people entering the studio and doubling the limited depth of the studio.
The window sill, located on the ground floor on the street side, becomes a shop window with ever-changing writings; the one now shows, upside down, the words “from another point of view.”
Ultimately, with these measures, visitors now find themselves in a large studio in the great city of Milan, with lots of space and volume.
A step at the entrance brings the following writing to the curious visitor:
If you’re outside… enter a new dimension!
Do you also want to enter a new dimension?
