Wellington St Mixed Use House falls outside of traditional classifications. Located within a mixed use zone and deliberately ambiguous in its typology it presents as a hybrid model perhaps more readily found in somewhere like Japan where uses and zones are commonly mixed and stratified.
Looking at Pablo Muñoz Payá’s project “A home for Ana and Pau” we can see how the antithesis of this perception can be achieved, free from the connotations that such typologies may entail.
In 2016 SOUP Director Jamie Le Gallez purchased a dilapidated barn in St. Saviours dating back to 1858. The listed barn is a typical two storey granite structure set within a small farmstead.
