In the heart of Binissalem, a quaint inland town nestled within the picturesque landscapes of Mallorca, stands a remarkable architectural gem—a typical three-story house with a unique twist. Measuring a mere 3.20 meters in width and stretching 18 meters in length, this house presents an intriguing challenge due to its narrow dimensions. However, within these constraints lies the opportunity for innovation and creativity.

Introducing BUIT House – an extraordinary project born out of the necessity to infuse life and spaciousness into an interior space that was once shrouded in darkness. The concept behind BUIT House revolves around the idea of “emptying” the interior, stripping away the constraints imposed by the enclosed layout and introducing a sense of openness and illumination.

The transformation begins by demolishing the intermediate floors, creating a breathtaking triple-height space that spans the entire length of the house. This bold move not only enhances the sense of verticality but also allows natural light to flood the interior, breathing new life into the space. At the heart of BUIT House lies a striking skylight embedded within the roof, serving as a beacon of light that illuminates the main floor below.

But perhaps the most captivating feature of BUIT House is its staircase—a dazzling fusion of form and function. Crafted from white, metallic materials and designed with transparency in mind, the staircase stands as a sculptural masterpiece, symbolizing the dignified entrance of light into the home. Its lightness and elegance serve as a stark contrast to the previously dim interior, further enhancing the sense of spaciousness and airiness.

In essence, BUIT House is not just a renovation project — it is a testament to the transformative power of design. By reimagining space and embracing natural light as a guiding principle, BUIT House transcends its narrow confines to become a luminous sanctuary—a beacon of innovation and ingenuity in the heart of Binissalem.
