Casa Playa del Carmen creates its own beachside oasis, centered around a communal heart where the main house and guest house meet. A 25-meter swimming lane acts as both a visual and physical connector between the two, reflecting the lush jungle that borders the property.
A Dual-House Layout Connected by Water
The ground floor of the main house hides all sliding doors, allowing the interiors to open completely and transform into a single terrace for social living under the shelter of the bedroom volume above. The guest house includes three additional bedrooms, as well as a service area and laundry. Each house has its own private entrance, yet they share a lateral view of the surrounding jungle.
Durable, Low-Maintenance Furnishings
From the beginning, all furniture was designed and built in cast-in-place concrete, ensuring longevity and minimal upkeep. This approach led to custom integrations between bed bases, desks, sofas, and tables, producing pieces that give the interiors a sense of permanence and simplicity. These solid, built-in elements embody daily use in a tangible, enduring way.
Bedrooms Immersed in Nature
The design prioritizes upper-level spaces—mostly bedrooms—with large windows and direct openings to the vegetation. By varying the orientation of the rooms and taking advantage of the lateral jungle, the layout ensures privacy for each bedroom without sacrificing the view.
Maximizing Site and Setting
Known as Casa S2616, the project embraces the site’s constraints, the surrounding jungle, and the property’s orientation to create a balance between secluded, intimate natural spaces and open, inviting social areas. The result is a home where architecture and nature work together to frame a lifestyle deeply connected to its tropical environment.
Casa Playa del Carmen is not just a residence—it is a carefully crafted retreat that celebrates its location, offering durability, privacy, and seamless integration with the lush landscape.
