Georgian House Oxfordshire is a renovation project completed by London-based Louise Holt Design.
From the designer: When our clients bought the house it had been extended many times by previous owners which had resulted in an awkward internal layout. We worked with them on the new room layout of the property returning symmetry to the original rooms and balancing the older original side of the house with the addition of a contemporary glass extension.
With a brief to create a ‘contemporary country’ feel for the interior we selected colours and finishes for walls and floors to create a cohesive interior sympathetic to the period details of the older part of the property whilst enhancing the feeling of light and space within the new extension and basement.
The materials and colours carefully chosen balanced with the stone walls and limestone plaster gave a softness to the interior. The interior design was completed with the selection of furniture, rugs and decorative lighting and joinery colours and finishes for each room. Photography: Andrew Beasley
