Handmade rugs for children’s rooms – Armadillo

Handmade rugs

Australian company Armadillo & Co specializes in handmade rugs made from natural fibers has recently launched a beautiful Junior collection. Delicately crafted from braided and hand stitched soft Bangladeshi hemp, simple circles define this design to create a welcoming play area in the children’s room.

The designer’s presentation: We’re Jodie Fried and Sally Pottharst. Six years ago we founded Armadillo&Co when we discovered what we had in common was our search for the uncommon. Where were the honest and earthy rugs we wanted for our own homes? No existing product matched our passion. So what we couldn’t find, we decided to make. We combined forces not only with each other, sharing 30 years’ experience in design and textiles, but with what we now consider our extended family of artisans in India. For us, it’s all about combining aesthetics with ethics. Every piece embraces Fair Trade practices, is crafted from sustainable natural fibres including pure wool, jute, cotton and hemp, and all purchases benefit local schools in our weavers’ villages. We aim for our rugs to lie lightly on this earth.
