Highsun Group’s new headquarters in Fuzhou stands as an emblem of the company’s heritage, culture, and “people-first” philosophy. Designed by Gensler, the stacked massing form symbolizes collaboration and tapestry—an homage to the group’s textile roots—while also establishing the building as a dynamic urban landmark.

Iconic Stacked Architecture

Gensler translated Highsun’s ethos of “Synergy Inspires Possibility” into a split-level tower that weaves interlocking volumes. Consequently, the building’s terraced profile not only references weaving techniques central to the company’s past but also creates expansive social terraces. Moreover, by breaking from traditional monolithic design, the headquarters maximizes outdoor gathering areas and city views.

Multifunctional Interiors for Collaboration

Inside, the layout prioritizes flexible, multifunctional spaces where employees can meet, innovate, and recharge. For example, open collaboration hubs sit alongside quiet focus rooms, while casual “town square” areas foster impromptu exchanges. Additionally, integrated smart-building technologies enable personalized lighting and climate control, ensuring that each team member experiences comfort tailored to their needs.

Urban Green Spaces and Wellness

Highsun’s commitment to wellness guided the inclusion of lush, elevated gardens throughout the tower. As a result, staff enjoy daily access to fresh air and natural light, helping to reduce stress and boost productivity. Furthermore, Gensler aligned the design with the WELL Building Standard’s seven core concepts—air, water, nutrition, light, fitness, comfort, and mind—thereby embedding healthful choices into every corner of the workplace.

Cultural Connection and Future Focus

From the lobby’s textile-inspired mosaics to the rooftop terrace overlooking Fuzhou’s skyline, every detail honors the region’s history and Highsun’s origins in Changle’s textile industry. At the same time, the headquarters’ forward-looking technology infrastructure and adaptable work environments signal the company’s confidence in continued growth and innovation.

Ultimately, Highsun Group’s Fuzhou headquarters exemplifies how architecture can embody a brand’s narrative. By combining iconic stacked volumes, multifunctional interiors, and urban green spaces, Gensler has created a landmark that not only celebrates the past but also inspires a future defined by collaboration and well-being.
