Sun Tan is a project for a restaurant of about 70 m2, located in Bairro das Colónias, in Lisbon. The project is installed on the ground floor of a building constructed in the 1930s, included within Lisbon’s most significant set of Art Deco style architecture.
The design of restaurant is based on the brand style “fusion” as its branding position,and the designer takes inspiration from Dante’s Divine Comedy “PURGATORIO” to make a figurative expression in the space.
The design of the Frank Macs bar was carefully considered to protect and enhance the highly significant heritage fabric. Techniques include using freestanding joinery, protective floor layers, and no fixings into the sandstone walls, carefully inserting the new design elements within the heritage framework.
The Return restaurant is located in the first underground floor in a shopping mall, and it has an independent entrance. The space was formerly an aquarium.
