Designed by Studio RO+CA, the VF apartment is located in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, just a few steps from the beach. The initial idea was to create a colorful space for the owner, a young single 30-year-old, who could easily host friends.
Located in Los Angeles, the Crane House is a project that includes two twin houses designed by Anonymous Architects. Because of the small lot size (approx. 2,000 sq.ft each) the footprint of each house was very limited.
An intervention in an existing building forces the architect to take a position regarding the architectonical object. In this case, the pre-existing dwelling was heir of the local Modern Movement principles, typical of the Mediterranean coast, and the site offered two exceptional conditions regarding that position.
