Lloyd Eist House is located in the semi-industrial Cottage Green, a street in Camberwell, South London, and involves the refurbishment and new second floor and side extension of a mid-century storage warehouse building to provide a three-story family home.
The concept was around the idea of “a warm nest”, a space to come together, a welcoming space, not intrusive nor invasive. Focusing on calm gatherings, time to reflect, relax, regain strength, get together with loved ones, embark the journey to recovery in peace.
Built in 1958 and originally designed by noted Pacific Northwest architect Roland Terry, this West Vancouver house no longer met the needs of contemporary living.
