The London Animal Hospital (TLAH) is the first of its kind in central London offering around the clock care and emergency services to all pets. alma-nac were commissioned by the TLAH to create a sector leading facility that would provide the best possible care for its patients
Who lives there? A couple with 4 children of different ages (the eldest is 12). People of a home. A very different couple. Go for other things.
The program was simple: a secluded small home for a couple who sought a place to prepare and enjoy meals, to read by the fire, to write and paint, to lodge guests, and to sleep among the trees.
The sustainability of Gear Loft is its compact footprint and low energy usage. It lives large but consumes little. Materials are unsophisticated and accessible: concrete, plywood, glulam, and steel.
The clients approached TrÃpólà with a view to building a small extension on a plot of land originally intended for a garage.
This newbuild project in Berlin featured great bones but was, essentially a white box. We used our clients wonderful collection of art and objects as the starting point for our colour and material palette.
