Following on from their previous work with Anglia Ruskin University on the third floor of the Import building at Republic London, Oktra were also appointed to fit out the fourth floor.
The average Australian house uses 19kwh of energy per day. Sustainable Garden House produces 100kwh per day and has a 26kwh Tesla battery. A high-performing, hi tech, inner-city oasis, Garden House is our most sustainable home yet.
The residence is made up of six 24’x24’ gabled modules, arranged to align roof ridges and create continuity from one module to the next. In contrast, each module’s roof eaves flow upward and downward, which result in a variety of undulating surfaces and unexpected sightlines across the exterior and interior of the home.
Blur House, by day, is a silhouette, a dark floating bar, a metallic cloak wrapped around a bright, light-filled home. The homeowners are two art consultants who experience the house’s juxtaposing nature when crossing the threshold between interior and exterior.
In this project, the Benjamin Fleider residence, built by Oswaldo Bratke – one of the most important of modern architecture – in São Paulo, in 1956, had its original architecture preserved.
The client intended the home to serve as a part-time mountain escape from Manhattan’s hectic financial industry, a pursuit that proved increasingly worthwhile following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sea Ranch was designed by Barry McLeod of Barclay McLeod Architect and was completed in 1971. At that time, it was immediately recognized as an important architectural achievement
