“Flower cage house” is a former housing estate size 60 sq.wa with internal area of 300 sq.m. The owner wants to renovate the house that was over 10 years to provide space that suit the needs to its full capacity.
This project is the alteration and addition of an existing Victorian cottage in Darling Point, Sydney. In recognition of the local suburbs’ vernacular, the ambition was to pay homage to a traditional grand home within a limited footprint.
The loft 32 is situated on the 8th floor of a former BaÅ¥a shoe factory building in ZlÃn, overlooking the green heart of the town. Its design aims to integrate the town’s image into the space of the apartment.
The design draws on the history and materials of traditional Cornish fishing villages, with their ribbons of steep lanes dipping down to the sea. Entering from the lane, a stone wall breaks to form an unassuming main entrance. Circulation spaces meander between the volumes leading down to the kitchen and living areas.
For the recent expansion levels, Perkins+Will cleverly integrated hues from Dropbox’s branding guidelines to designate destinations, utilizing glass walls with colorful dichroic film in the lounge areas.
These 2 new buildings – Pavilions within a Garden – have an honesty and restraint creating calm and restful spaces which compliment and enhance their setting.
Counterbalance Loft is a complete reworking of a 2-story urban loft, working within the context of the existing steel and heavy timber structure, creating a framework for the owners’ eclectic taste and lifestyle.
